A/Prof Ryan Lee is the discipline lead in periodontology at the School of Dentistry, University of Queensland. Ryan is the director of postgraduate specialist training programme (EFP accredited). Ryan has strong research interests in clinical periodontology, diabetes, wound healing, periodontal and bone regeneration, and 3D printed ridge reconstruction. His research has been recognized internationally via presentations at various international research meetings and awarded several international research prizes. Most notably, Ryan was recently awarded the highly prestigious André Schroeder Research Prize by the International Team for Implantology in dental implant research.

Ryan is a Federal councillor of QLD and immediate past president for Australian Society of Periodontics (ASP-Federal). Ryan is the editor-in-chief for the Australian Journal of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (AJPID).
